读经内容：罗马书4-5章

什么样的信心才算是真信心呢？保罗在罗马书前面三章都在讲“因信称义”的教义。宗教改革的精神有五个重要的唯独，“唯独圣经，唯独恩典，唯独信心，唯独基督，唯独神的荣耀。”我们从罗马书4-5章可以看到，保罗先是用亚伯拉罕为例来说明信心的重要性，什么是真正的信心，以及为什么信心能够使他称为义人。
我们刚刚读完了摩西五经，对亚伯拉罕的故事应该很熟悉了。神应许亚伯拉罕和他后裔以土地和子孙，亚伯拉罕就凭着神的话，相信神。这就是亚伯拉罕信心的例子，而律法是在亚伯拉罕之后赐下的，所以神给亚伯拉罕的应许并不是因为他或者以色列百姓遵行了律法而赐下的，也不是因为他们受了割礼才称为义的。
但是信心本身并不能带来救赎。这并不是与因信称义的要义产生了矛盾，而信心只有藉着耶稣基督才能带来救赎。也就是说，救赎是来自基督的，是基督的工作。“我们既然因信称义，就藉着我们的主耶稣基督得与神相和。”（罗5：1）这句话很重要，因为它说明了信心一定要藉着耶稣基督才使我们与神和好。
信心也是一份礼物，只有圣灵才能使被拣选的人得到这个信心，产生对基督的真信心，从而悔改归向神。基督的救赎是恩典，是白白的赐给被拣选的人的。“我们又藉着他，因信得进入现在所站的这恩典中，并且欢欢喜喜盼望 神的荣耀。” (罗5:2) 罗马书的这两节经文就已经涵盖了五个唯独中后面四个的要义。
信心的对象是基督，同时我们藉着基督相信神，而这信心是圣灵的工作。“信心唯独倚靠恩典的应许， 其一，除非人深信神所赏赐的白白应许，否则他的信心必不能坚定；其二，除非信心将我们与基督联合，否则这信心无法使我们与神和好。”（加尔文要义第三卷30）与基督联合，正是保罗在罗马书第五章接下来所要讲的内容，这也是基督教重要的要义。
亚当是人类的始祖，是因为他犯罪，所以罪进入到世界，死就临到众人，所以罪是因为他一人而进入世界，而全人类也都有了罪。耶稣被称为末后的亚当，也被称为第二亚当，因为亚当是全人类的属世的代表，耶稣是义的代表。因着与亚当联合，我们都要死。但是如果与基督联合，我们就因着耶稣的义行而得生。
思考与应用：我们要如何向传福音的对象去解释因信称义呢？
